Staten Island Research
For further research about Staten Island, the best place to start is at The College of Staten Island Library's Archives and Special Collections. The Archives holds many books and dissertations about Staten Island. The Archives also collects documents and papers related to Staten Island's recent political history and public policy, among other areas. The Archives holds, for example, the papers of Staten Island's long-serving state senator John Marchi, as well as papers related to the 1990s Staten Island secession movement and the closing of the Fresh Kills Landfill.
